Dental Hygiene and Periodontal Health

While at our office, we make sure that you receive the highest level of service and ensure that our dental work is of the highest quality. To ensure that you maintain great oral health, this level of quality needs to extend into your personal oral hygiene routine. We can help you establish a dental hygiene routine that will keep your teeth healthy and white. If you have any questions about your current hygiene plan please ask us.

Your teeth are not the only important part of your mouth. Your gums are essential to oral hygiene as well. We can provide deep (periodontal) cleanings and treatment, or refer you to one of our recommended specialists.

A professional cleaning is the best way to maintain your oral health. At your cleaning appointment, you will have digital X-rays taken. These X-rays are the state of the art at this time, and take excellent radiographs with a very low radiation dose. You are always covered by a lead shield to protect you. We can look at your X-rays together on our TV monitors in each of our treatment rooms and discuss your treatment with you.

If you show evidence of “pyorrhea,” or periodontal disease, we will discuss various treatments for that condition with you. It is our goal to protect and retain your teeth for a lifetime. All gum treatments and cleanings are covered by your dental insurance. Remember, dental insurance is not intended to cover your costs at 100%.

See what patients have to say about Dr. Ridder:

"Dr. Ridder is by far the most competent dentist I have gone to.  Highly recommended."

-Robert Ward, Indianapolis

"Dr. Ridder is now my favorite dentist ever and I've been to a few in Kokomo.  She is so kind, patient, and she takes a lot of time with you to make sure everything is perfect before you leave.  She has went above and beyond at each and every one of my visits."

-Amy Mcginnis, Kokomo

"She made sure that I was comfortable and had no pain or discomfort during my root canal.  I was extremely nervous and somehow she even had me laughing.  She knows what she's doing and she's very kind."

-Jennifer Stoll, Peru
