Straighten Your Smile Discreetly With Invisalign

The Invisalign technology offers the use of a transparent tray that is fitted over the teeth to gradually move them into the right position. Contact Dr. Jaclyn Ridder here at Cumber Pointe Dental in Noblesville, IN, to find out if it is the right treatment for you. In the meantime, let’s see how Invisalign can straighten your smile discreetly.

The Invisalign Process

At first glance, it may look like your ordinary retainer, however, an Invisalign aligner is much more than that. In the process of straightening the teeth, you will be required to wear a series of aligners. The aligners are designed using computer imaging to anticipate the movement of your teeth.

Likewise, they are intended to create slight movements of the teeth so the next aligner in the series builds on the gains of the previous ones. This is why the aligners have to be worn in the proper order to get the desired results.

The Innovative Invisalign Technology

Invisalign trays are individually designed using Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology to achieve the proper fit. Before treatment begins, digital photographs, X-rays, and impressions of your teeth will be taken. These are then 3D rendered to create a treatment plan specific for you.

The treatment requires you to wear the aligners for 22 hours daily even if there are times where it can be more convenient for you to leave it out. It is acceptable though if the occasion calls for it to remove it for a couple of hours, but you need to put it back in right after. This ensures that you do not stop your progress with the treatment.

The great thing about the Invisalign technology, aside from increasing the beauty of your smile, is that it allows you to eat virtually anything you want. This means not making any changes to your diet or even the way you eat. Simply remove the aligners before eating and you’re set.

To make sure your aligners are clean and preserve oral hygiene, rinse it before putting it back into your mouth. You can also brush, rinse, and floss as usual so there isn’t much impact on how you protect your teeth and gums.
